TrailerParkPrid 12-17-2003, 06:59 PM Does anyone else besides me not like the new trend of huge, half screen covering guns that are now "the thing" for First Person Shooters? From the Videos, and the screenshots it seems to me that T:V is getting like this also. Although it does fit into the story line (Less advanced in technology, so bigger weapon) Of course this wouldn't matter if they implement an option where you can turn the visibility of the weapon off (Which ALOT of people do because it increases FOV) but still. Does anyone else worry they will see a pitifully huge weapon taking up most of their screen on beta release of T:V, or am I the only one with this?
I know the little, visibility = off on weapon Option is a little tidbit that they will get to if they have time, but it's okay to wish?
Thrax Panda 12-17-2003, 07:32 PM They really aren't that big. The T2 sniper rifle is much larger than anything in T:V.

I can honestly say I have no clue what you are talking about. The model sizes are fine.
|MrSniper|Nyx 12-17-2003, 09:06 PM hideRifle.cs, a T2 must-have. T:V weapons don't look too bad, but they are on the largish side.
 @ this thread.
Doaln 12-17-2003, 09:44 PM i can't live w/o seeing my disk launcher. if a particular weapon is too large (like sniper rifle in T2), i'll hide just that one.
Void|deadjawa 12-17-2003, 09:46 PM All of the weapons in Tribes and Tribes 2 are freaking huge. Look at how big the blaster is compared to a light in T1.
Theta 12-17-2003, 11:54 PM weapon sizes look fine :|

^ omfg true
Quaduce 12-18-2003, 12:16 AM The disc launcher seems a bit bulky. but then again so did the T2 disc compared to the tribes disc launcher. I know other people have comented on this aswell.
I dont really see it as a problem as long as it dosnt block half my screen like some weapons in other games. (plasma in halo for instance)
pyrot3chnic 12-18-2003, 02:05 AM damnit, i thought everything looked fine until you brought it up :|
Torks 12-18-2003, 05:09 AM damnit, i thought everything looked fine until you brought it up :|
imo everything is still looking fine!
slogg 12-18-2003, 07:04 AM aslong as it is all smaller thanthe laser rifle in T2, i am happy
Darkfire 12-18-2003, 07:34 AM weapon sizes look fine :|
Void|deadjawa 12-18-2003, 11:53 AM I think they have to be big so they dont look disproportionate when a heavy uses them.
commonsense 12-18-2003, 12:30 PM I think it'll be okay. You'll likely have the option to turn it off if you're really that picky.
Darkfire 12-18-2003, 05:52 PM In ut2003 theres an option for small weapons..which also could be put in T:V to stop you all from wining hopefully :D
Trident_RX 12-18-2003, 10:51 PM The heavy weapons like the mortar can be big, but weapons that the light armors carry should be realistic in size.
Void|deadjawa 12-18-2003, 11:31 PM But theres this problem, see. Lights and heavies carry the same weapons.
Trident_RX 12-19-2003, 01:53 AM What i'm saying is, weapons only ment for heavies/mediums can be big, but weapons that lights can use must be small, even if they look dumb on the larger armors.
