would it be possible to give the time remaining on the current map outside the server?
like, on the server info screen or, even better, on that tribestray crapper that random mentioned in sarcastick's riveting thread
would be cool for out of server scrim/match observing :(

Shouldn't be hard on a server side script, will see what I can pull using um zadmin when my system is back up and running, have to reformat the little bitch.

A server script maybe...there's no way a client can return that information w/o being connected to the server. :P

Sammy, MoundS' bot was able to do this and I asked him how awhile ago so I only somewhat remember.
His bot constantly polled servers to detect map changes. I believe it was assumed every map would be 25 minutes, which is why it sometimes reported negative times when an admin extended the map. Basically after a map change it would just automatically countdown from 25 minutes and when you requested it would report the time it thought was left.
This wouldn't work for a match since people sit in tournament mode for awhile before actually starting the map.

i have no idea about the network code or whatever, but my idea(w/ no knowledge)
connect to the server, but halt it before the server shows your connected. something like that :shrug:
