implications of two weapons vs. three

Actually now that I think of it.... I believe 2 weapons for lights to be a superior design choice. Have mediums be able to carry 4 weapons, and heavies 5. Give a little incentive to play the (improved?) mediums. Mediums have never gotten the love they deserve.

I actually think the idea of dropping the lights gun slots down to 2 is an interesting idea. If it is something that has been discussed and still not final, perhaps during beta it could be trialed to see how it runs..

if t1 was "perfect", why were any sequels made for reasons that didnt just make more money?

if T:V really wanted to appease the original crowd, they'd remake tribes1 with prettier graphics, new maps, and a stupid but usless item here and there

they're trying to better the game, and this is an idea to do it.. albiet very very late in the design period to implement, thus its not something thats likely at all to happen

i'd really like at least one decent and intelligent response, otherwise i would have posted this in generalDon't forget, T:V [hopefully] has a story behind it. The other two just feed you some crap about BioDerms and wars between the four major Tribes as an incentive to get you to play them, though it does make sense that the original idea would be to have you act out the story through the multiplayer games, you'd only be playing one chapter in a story with no actual ending (and some of these chapters have been played through WAY too many times *cough*Katabatic*cough*). I hope T:V can correct this and give players a real reason to play instead of following what little story they're usually given.

Dropping the light down to 2 slots would do something in T:V that wasn't done by t1 and t2 - namely that the "dueling class" might be something other than the speedy class.

The difference from 3 to 4 weapon slots wasn't all that important, but the difference between 2 and 4 could be huge.
