Is it possible to make the 9700 non pro into something else? My friend said you could make certain ATI cards run higher and "un-lock" say if your running 9500 to 9800.

Something like it has the hardware but ATI just hard coded it in to prevent it from unlocking those possibles?

If so I am very interested in over clocking my card or "unlocking" things. I have 3.7 instead of 3.8 catalyst due to all the complaints and I was affected by it..

In SWG My monitor would turn off like.. then I would alt tab out of the game and the monitor would fuzzy in like its been just turned on, I didn't know what to do tried every possible alternative.. I heard it destroyed osme peoples monitors.. damn lucky my monitor is still running.

Anyways yeah.

Some of the 9500s were locked and rebranded 9700s. It was possible to unlock them and run at 9700 speeds for 9500 prices.

There weren't many made, and you always took a chance of getting a regular 9500.

Short of that, your friend is on crack. You're welcome to try and overclock your 9700, but don't expect to reach 9800 speeds.

And I don't know what the fuck you're saying in the rest of your post.
