Is the onboard sound from the A7N8X better than a sound blaster live 5.1? The live is pretty damn old and I was wondering if it would be better using the onboard sound.

Data 10-16-2003, 09:18 PM The audio fidelity of the nForce 2 chipset is (arguably) better than some Audigy cards. The Realtek ALC650 audio chip on your board gives you true Dolby Digital 6-channel surround. So, yeah. It's better. :D Gil 10-17-2003, 12:50 AM So is realtek good? I've never had any problems from their rtl8132 network chips, but everyone puts them down cuz they're the $5 ones. iNVAR 10-17-2003, 01:03 AM people put down realtek based NICs because they DO suck. try maxxing out the bandwidth (full 100mbps) sometime and see how much CPU utilization is. Data 10-17-2003, 01:29 AM This thread isn't about NICs. :disgust: Skibbi9 10-17-2003, 08:43 AM people put down realtek based NICs because they DO suck. try maxxing out the bandwidth (full 100mbps) sometime and see how much CPU utilization is.hmm... good call... so what's a good card under full stress (11.3 MB/Sec) iNVAR 10-17-2003, 08:54 AM intel nics are good. ones based on the Tulip chip aren't bad either. (kingston, linksys, and some other comps have NICs that use the tulip chipset) | ||
