That's what I do when I update my (ati) drivers. between you and data, i don't know which of you are being dumber in this thread. the question obviously implies that add/remove programs isn't doing a very good job of completely cleaning out the drivers and its related files from the system. data just posted that because he was being stupid. you supporting him after he admitted that he was being useless is stupid.... It takes about 2hrs to do completely, across like 4 reboots. It only takes me 1hr to reinstall windows, which is what I do when I have trouble. Cobra 10-10-2003, 04:43 PM ATI now has uninstaller software. http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/misc/catalystutils.html Be careful though...I think it deletes all there software, Hydravision, mmc as well as the drivers and control panel. Gil 10-11-2003, 04:35 AM they recommend that you uninstall all that stuff before, and reinstall it all after, the primary display driver. Cobra 10-11-2003, 10:39 AM I've used add/remove for the drivers and control panel and haven't had any problems going from one driver to another. I've used drivercleaner a couple of times and that seems to work OK. I used the latest uninstaller from ATI and it worked OK. | ||
