HOLY CRAP. How could I have missed this thread? Tears rolling down my face just now... hilarious!

It puts me in mind of an old pro wrestling game we played on the original Nintendo. The tag team option pitted the 'Ricky Fighters' against the 'Strong Bads.' When you pinned your opponent, the computer congratulated you with the message:

'A winner is you.'

That was the most egregious Japanese-to-English translation I'd heard until today, with THE EXCEPTION of an old portable computer backgammon game I bought.

Imagine explaining the rules of backgammon - impossible to relate even in English - by translating poorly from Japanese. This manual used to make me weep with laughter. When I go home to my folks' house in Phoenix, I'm going to try do dig it up and post some of the contents.

In the meantime, thank you guys so much for this thread. Hilarious!

Not my idea, I just thought it was fun and ran with it. I don't know where it started, but Somethingawful.com seems to generally get most of the credit.
