GIF animation trouble - not working at all [Archive]

Ok, for a while now my .gifs don't work. I can't see :closet: all it shows is the first frame and stays on it. It all happened when I noticed this:

I'm not sure what happened, I can provide specs and stuff, but I'm not sure how useful they will be except for I am running Win98.

It's a POS computer, so it's not a HUGE deal, that's why I havn't posted earlier (it's been like this for a while now, a few months) but I want to get a new buddy icon for AIM, and I can't see any of them :(
