A file that is required to run search companion cannot be found. [Archive]

Whenever I hit the Start>Search>Files or Folders I get this error message:
A file that is required to run search companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup.

Theres a Microsoft Knowledge Base Article (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/support/kb/articles/q319/9/49.asp&NoWebContent=1) regarding this message. But none of the three "fixes" has worked for me.

Has anyone else run into this issue and had a hard time fixing it?

I've got XP Pro, and Service Pack 1a
