To make black reticles, or friendly/foe indicators?
I can make them show up black only on ice terrain but on antyhing else they're all funky.

In what way are they funky? A screenshot would be helpful I think...

yea, im pretty sure you can, considering that reticles and IFF's use a seperate alpha layer, not the black transparent type

Just use 0 0 1 instead of 0 0 0 for Black..

Yes, but I find that black reticles are generally inefficient so I stick to Green/Red rets.

Alright I guess I forgot to mention some other things before.
I used the PPL editor on the 5150 site to change the team chat & IIF/Full health/green tips for the health bar to (190 197 190) I don't know if that would affect me still trying to get black friendlies... but I hope not :)
Alright anyways this is what I used to get it to show up kinda black on ice terrains :http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/klye/H_friend.bmp
And heres what it looks like: http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/klye/sshot0045.jpg
On lush terrains it looks like: http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/klye/sshot0047.jpg
And on desert: http://www.angelfire.com/alt2/klye/sshot0046.jpg
Oh and when i tried to do it (0 0 1) it didnt show up at all.
Any help is appreciated :)

You're probably using a palette that's different per terrain type. Try a different one.

I know what you're saying but i'm not applying any palettes to it.

That's probably it then. I believe you need a palette.

I thought the default ones were normal .bmp's ... So why would mine show up diferent? =/
If I do need to use a palette to make it show up the same consistantly, which one do I use? Oh and I still don't know how to make them show up black =/

Tribes uses a "Default" palette if you don't apply one, but if you were to use Interface.pal on it, then you could probably get away without Make-skinning it.

http://www.team5150.com/~random/crotch_foe.bmp Here's a really dark green I made using -1.pal
If you manually edit one of the colors in your palettes to 0 (Red) 0 (Green) and 1 (Black), then use that color, you'll get a darker black.
-1.pal (http://www.team5150.com/~random/crotch-1.PAL)
