Coolest, Funniest moments in Tribes(1 or 2)?

From Tribes 2:

Hit someone a good distance away with the spinfusor when I wasn't really aiming. I was real surprised, because I suck.

I was playing the Ninja mod, somehow got stuck in a sensor, and a cloaked guy just jetted by and dropped a det pack. I was like, Oh Crap, and then died.

Funny: getting shrike's and transports stuck through the walls of the base on Roller Coaster.

Also, MPB flipping. Spent an entire practice on Katabatic flipping MPB's. We did a base to base jump, a jump where I survived and ended up 10,000 meters away from our base.

Experiencing the MPB bug in early classic that would make it fly off the vehicle pad like it had been conc'd.


Cool: Owning |5150|Smooth22 so bad that he kicked me from the server.

Going 3 for 3 in sniper duels against some really good sniper (was in Rapture, can't remember his name though).

I know one... this happened with me when I was a stinking newbie (I played since 2 months or so, 45 minutes a day.)

So I jet out of the base in Scarabrae and I notice a Scout coming at the tower. I mount the laser, but it's already passing... I turn 90 degrees and just shoot into the air without zoom or anything: I killed the guy inside the scout and the scout itself landed harmless in front of my base. We just stood :eek: for a few sec...

I'd have to say owning LPB's back in the day on my 56k when they thought they were the shit after talking smack about how good he was. I was banned shortly after. :shrug:

Ive got a bunch of these.


First one is when I was playing SSC mod in T1, and There is a hell fire missle wich is similar to the Missle Launcher in other mods just slower I beleive and more powerful. I was in goliath in the far side away from my base in Scarabre, and I saw a light fly by my to my base so I just shot a missle at him ( in front of him) just because I do that sometimes and then I turned away to walk up the hill and saw a death message from MY missle and turned around and saw his body falling to the ground LOL, and he was nearly over half the general map away from me.


Second of all was me and a freind and a bunch of players in a server hopped in a bunch of planes and had plane wars, and recorded it. The best part about it was getting in a transport and having him drive me around while I would snipe people out of there Planes in the big ol fat slow plane. And the best part was (scarabre again) We were alittle past half way with a scout plane zooming past us towards our base and the half a second after he lowered himself over the hill on the far side I shot and hit him right in the head and I see his body fly out of the plane over the hill HILARIOUS (and I have proof of this as it is recorded)


Third , Was Once again in StarSeigeCraft mod, They had a bunch of "NO GEN" levels so people would stop gen raping...wich I hated becuase I figured it was part of the game. So ther was this code you could do , to get admin privilages through console soemting like ClientMenuSelect("kill ####") the numbers meaning the player ID wich you got by typing in playerid(); or listplayers(); something like that. ANd it would strike them down. but there was also one called "peniscurse" wich gave you THE BALLS OF LIFE wich was a giant cactus in between your legs. Well some where down the line there was a mistake in the coding and instead of giving us the balls of life it gave us Infinite flight and all weapons with infite ammo (no lie) so what we would do is fly to the end of the maps and go Underneath them and go find the generators and kill them so HAHA, no power from underneath . (because they would move the Generators beneath the map) and then we would stay down there and snipe people from underneath the map. And if we couldnt get the Console Code, wed just use planes for other modes.

Quick summary so far:
Once I saw this [5150/IE/R/whateverbigtribe there is] player and I killed him IN MID AIR WITH DISC OMG!!!!!!

Actually the other night we were playing the true Tribes game (thats one) and this guy had k-pack running. So I did the usual "|TsO|KloontaK kills her own dumb self." in chat and what do you know, people are STILL running the horribly coded version of k-pack that accepts any correctly formatted message as a stat message. So he was suiciding faster than humanly possible, thanks to delerium, myself and Hobbiticus' help. He also couldn't say anything because his script was talking for him. After about 5 minutes of actually playing we see his kpack reenabled, except this time he is spamming his own script:
"|TsO|KloontaK blows APC builder up real good."

At this point delerium pointed out that "you can just edit the cs file you moron" but he said he knew. He probably did, but it was hilarious. He was being an idiot in other ways ingame, so I voted to kick him. He was spamming "yes" to the vote but it failed, 4 to 10. So then thirty seconds, he initiates a vote to kick himself.

It passed.

When rapture kicked their LD because we (eM) were capping to much.

That and UK ramming into a tree with a tank saying "look at me! I'm banshee!"

Killing 3 [SES] HOs during a scrim with a satchel charge.

T2:
Watching Mr. Gray-Fox's perma-flag indicator suddenly halt on a solid cap, hearing him sigh on ventrilo, and then watching a mortar nail him.
When asked what happened, he said, "That fucking tree came out of nowhere."

first time ever playing t1, seeing someone from the other team die right in front of me at our base. then shooting a disc all the way to the other teams base and killing him again (remember this was my first ever shot)

anyways i found that rather funny :)

A little over a year ago, Lagless was having a practice on Drifts back in Base++. I can't remember who grabbed the flag but he ran down the middle of the map. About 3 people started to chase him, including LostAngel. As the capper flew past LA, LA turned to start his chase, firing a disc as he did. He apparently didn't see the tree that he was standing next to because, as he turned and fired, the disc exploded on the tree, killing poor LA. He swears that the tree jumped out and bit him.

In my first months of play, I was playing some C&H (which is better than CTF, btw) on a map I forget the name to (all 7 swiches all in 1 building), and piloting an LPC. Well, I was going over a small ridge (2 peaks, 1 on either side of me, so no periferal vision), and here comes another LPC, just above me, and he clipps of my 2 passengers, but leaves me and my LPC, and his LPC unharmed. :\

Coolest T1: Hearing pubknight say that I "played an amazing match" on SH vs ASK.

(heres to hoping matches are small sided and we get some decent casters in T:V so stuff like that is possible)

Coolest T2: Disking a flag into myself while skiing down a hill away from 2 defenders to get the game winning cap in a 0-0 OT vs Apocalypse on dessicator.

(T2 did have its moments due to the low scoring nature of the game)

Funniest: Too many to count...Tribes is the funniest game ever.

One of my friend accidentally jetted into an enemy HPC once in wich there was only a driver, and he correctly mounted on the front left slot. They both didn't understand what's going on, then after a sec POW POW, the driver ate my friend's plasma.

Funniest T1: I remember my game was bugging out, making my disks shoot off a little from the aim reticle. I just happened to get two MA's in a row right when this happened, killing both people. For the next ten minutes, I thought I had auto-aim.

Playing on Broadside couple of years ago on D-Link. I was at inv station on bottom floor trying to go HO but this heavy was lobbing mortars into the base. Well he blew up the station with me in it, but I survived the hit. Funny thing was that somehow I becamed a Heavy Inventory station.I have a few buttons set up to buy/drop single items. So I went to the enemy roof buying a few repair kits on the way. Spit out a portable inv and turretted their roof. Then some light chased me off and down the back valley where I beat him to the crest, and set up two more turrets. The map ended after a couple more minutes and I lost my superpowers.

In a HPC, me and a freind were flying to an enemy base, and below me was another HPC with one open slot (tribes 1 btw) so I bailed out and landed in there and went 'vgh' wich on mine is "HI" and then I dropped a mind and blew up the plain and everyone in it, that was so funny.

Lord Kermit tried to scout ram me while I was capping on RC.

He was behind me, jumped out, scout flew under me, I landed in it, and flew away.

When I first learned about TW and that it hosted demo's I downloaded one of n$ playing someone. It was from an LD perspective (Zarbon I think) on RD. I had never seen organized play. I saw 3 HO ripping through the sky firing mortars, blowing up turrets. Zarbon body blocked 1, ma'd 1 and the doorguard killed the last. It all looked just awesome. I was amazed to what competition looked like and it hooked me forever.
