when i play a video there is a purple tint to the video. there never was one before. i tried 5 different players and the tint was still there. i looked through the options but didnt see anything about it. only thing i can think of was a codec media player downloaded a few days ago. i fouind my codec list, but didnt know what the latest one was. does anyone know about how to fix this or have experienced it?

I think you were on the right track with the codecs. List them here please.

Can you post a link to the video? Also when it is open in WMP9 go to file > properties. It should tell you the codecs. The basic ones I would make sure you have are the latest Dixv, Xvid, and ac3 filter. They are the only ones I have installed and I have yet to have a problem playing a movie file.

this happens with ALL videos, no matter what format? it's not a codec then.
check your video overlay settings.
