I'm going to buy a new HD today, and I was wondering what brand I should get. Quantum/Maxtor is out of the question, I've bought 6 HDs from them, and all of them went bad within a month, aside from the seventh, 20GB I'm using right now. I'm looking for something in the Range of 60-80GB, and under $120 USD. I was thinking about the Western Digital 80GB Special Edition 7200 with 8MB Cacche, with ATA 100. Any other ideas?

That WD is the same I recently bought, works great. Ive had 3 WD and never had 1 go bad.

Wow that is some bad luck with Maxtors. I've been using them exclusively for the past 3 years and all are still running. Since you won't buy maxtor get a WD with the 8mb cache. Seagate has also released some pretty impressive drives recently.
