ive never been to a vets office that required pets to be muzzled...so according to my experience, this just doesnt happen.

Dogs are not required by law to be neutered, Einstein. A good portion of dogs, in fact, are not. The licenses are a bit more expensive, but that's all.

Two things you gotta consider:

1) Locking jaw: Big advantage in a fight, lets the dog tear into stuff with all its strength. I dunno if Rotties have it but I know pitbulls do.

2) Muzzle(sp) shape: Pitbulls have a muzzle on an incline so they can continue breathing while biting another animal, another big advantage. I dont think rotties have this either.

Pitbulls are damn strong, so I would say pitbull in 2.

i had a lab, my neighbors have a lab, the other neighbors have a lab, another has a sheltie, another with a bloodhound, another with a golden retriever, another with a husky/rottweiler mix, another with a collie

our neighbors lab goes nuts and will chase a car along the length of his yard. he has never gone into the street...but he does it anyway.

he barks at other dogs a lot when they are near his yard (except my yellow lab) but he doesnt attack. they play well just fine/

that being said...what about abuse. in case you missed the first post, the thread WAS about dogs fighting to the death. thats abuse.

i'd rather see the dogs brutally maul the bleeding heart animal-rights-attivist panzies that replied to this thread.

let's also totally deny the fact that canines have a carnivorous tooth structure designed to tear through living meat. oh yeah, they're not naturally inclined to kill other animals.

I wish I could find the link now, but interesting enough I was reading about this same topic when researching which dog I wanted to buy. The reason I was looking things like this up, is because in the area I live in, I rely a lot on my sidearm for protection from people braking into my house, and I wanted an animal that would be ruthless when I needed him to, and yet kind enough around his owners (My son, wife and I) that I didnt have to worry about it... Well I stumbled onto an old page that talked about dog fighting, and basically in short terms it said:

Rots are known for their loyalty, work ethics (these dogs actually can get sick and die, much like a ferret if they are not active enough) fierce fighting and strength.

They went to talk about how the only dog that can compare to a rot, is a pitbull and that majority of fights between a pitbull and a rot ended up with the rot losing not because of its strength or ferocity, but since the pit bull has the "lock Jaw", 9 out of 10 times once the Pit got a hold of the throat on the rot there was nothing that could stop that pit bull from killing it.

Personally if you wish to see your dog kill another living thing, or even fight, your a fuckin retard who needs to just watch faces of death to get your fill, but thats another thread =)

I decided on the rot, mostly because I have owned them in the past, and they have been the best dog to myself and my roomates at the time. Loving, caring, obediant but VERY aggressive when anyone in the house was threatend.
