Judging from the attitude we've seen, the only way T:V would fail would be massive bugs in the game/crashes. I doubt the gameplay would get fucked up. T:V simply needs to be bug free and actually work. A repeat of T2's "it only runs on 50% of the machines" type thing would be horrifying to the franchise. Other than that though, I don't see T:V failing.

I havn't heard the "so far we've hit every deadline" comment in a while, so they may have fallen behind, but that aside, the fact that they actually had a plan is reassuring. The gossip of tribes2 sounded like they were just making it up as they go along, it doesn't feel that way with T:V (but then again, marweas is pretty fucking crafty, even if he's not working on the project anymore).

That aside, I think irrational wants to go for game of the year. They know they're good enough to do it, and this title is pretty fucking big to them. Even if it's a sleeper hit (god forbid) I have a lot of faith it will be a very solid title. I'm really hoping that's enough.

yeah this thread wasn't really serious, but irrational have proved themselves time and time again but never really gotten huge recognition. I think this game is gonna be the big one, let the world know how good they are.

I wouldn't be so over confident on everyone loving the gameplay.

Yes KP is working at IG, but this community is pretty hard to please. And often it doesn't even have the foggiest idea what is best for it in a game IMO. So it wouldn't surprise me in the least if IG make a great bloody game, but half the community is pissed because it wasn't what they were expecting.

IG is taking the game in new directions from what we have seen thus far, and this is always gonna ruffle feathers. So i am gonna sit back, and enjoy the ride. Trying not to put any expectations on the game, and just take it as it comes. Enjoying it for what it will be, and not hopeing for something it isn't - like we all know so many people will be doing.

Obviously not everyone will love it, but you don't have the love the direction the gameplay goes, so long as the gameplay remains *quality* gameplay that retains the speed of T1 base/T2 classic. (Granted, not even that will please everyone, you'll probably see a bunch of people who are still loyal to the ultra slowness of T2 base for whatever reason cry alot). But it should please the overall majority. I could be talking out of my ass here too though so speculating on something you haven't even seen a movie of yet is pretty tough :\
