One thing that was massively annoying about T2 at release was how poorly it ran - even on very high-end machines (for the time). Dropping frames on Reversion, Sanctuary and River was just painful - it made capping not fun (come in fine on a practiced route, drop frames, wake up dead).
I'm not sure whether this was driven primarily by a buggy T2 engine or an overzelous DEV team. That said, I'm sure this coupled with all the bugs and ridiculous gameplay changes severely limited what otherwise should have been a massively successful release.
While I appreciate it that developers design for future system specs (as they should), please don't design TOO far in the future. It seems to me that a high end machine (at the time of release) should be able to manage the game reasonably well.
[Note: I'm sure you guys are thinking about this. Also, I'm sure that the Unreal Engine will make your job much easier.]
