[T1] How would you like to take 400 or more screen shots to help HoS?

House of Style is coming back soon, www.house-of-style.com and they are having a massive section for each Tribes game.

I've got almost anything skinning related to T1 I could find, most of sarcas stuff, hundreds of skins, effects, reticles etc

The bad part? Most of these did not have screen shots. I'd say 1/3 of them do, but most don't. That's well over 300+ screen shots I need to take. I do have T1 installed but it would honestly take me forever to sort through it all and take, crop and save all those screens between school, work, competiting in t2 14 man classic, working on my own skins, etc

So who would be willing to help? The person (looking for just 1, but I guess 2 or more could help) will get a user@house-of-style.com pop3 email, forum moderator status on our forums, and ftp access to help upload the massive amounts of screen shots. And of course mansecks from all the nice staff of house-of-style.com

i've got some spare time. how soon would all this be needed?
and would it all be skins?

Well, there's no real time date set, but sooner the better. A week or two I'd assume. Nothing real soon, but at the same time not taking months ;o

So far the T1 archive has;

weapon skins
explosions
trails
projectiles (plasma, repairs, laser, etc)
base stations
base solars
base forcefields
reticles
fonts
flag skins
vehicle skins

no player skins yet

so far its almost 400 files, amazingly all less than 8 megs total. Took me a little while to hunt it all up, still havent even gotten nearly all I know that is out there. Doomed's site is down :( he had literally hundreds of player skins, a shit load of reticles and other stuff. I think I got most of sarca's stuff, perros site is down so I had to dig through a ton of old ass threads. Most of planettribes old t1 stuff is gone, and theres not much t1 skins stuff on TW's RDB (already got all the hosted sites stuff).

Between a couple people it shouldnt take long, I dont mind collecting it all, archiving it, uploading it, or doing the html for it, taking screen shots is the one thing I do hate, takes fucking forever to load stuff, get a good screen, edit, save, upload, start over with something new, x300 (i'd say 100 or so have screen shots already out there, just need to collect them, most of them are red xs now).

Here's what'll need to be done:

Get skin
Run Tribes
See skin, take a screenshot
Open screenshot in desired photo editor (Photoshop, paint shop pro, ectra)
Crop image to a decent size
Save image to proper filename (IE W-Disk-Author-Skinname or so)
Upload to proper dirrectory
fill out form

Rinse, repeat.

I've been running this site, in T2 only, for about a year now. It takes maybe 5 minutes to do one skin at a time. If I do 10 skins, I can get them all done within 15 minutes of my time.

What is required of the person do to this:
Tribes 1
Basic knowledge of how skins are worked with T1
and ability to adapt organizational skills. (mostly to get the files in the right place with the right name. not hard)

To save time in Photoshop, couldn't you make one a Photoshop macro thingo? I'm not entirely sure how to make one which would crop and save as blah blah, but I'm sure there is at least someone one this forum who would know :shrug:
Would save a fair bit of time though, just give it the temp directory of screenshots and outputs all your cropped stuff for you.

For HoS try and get some configs that are accualy worth downloading and that have minimal bugs in them. Just a suggestion :)

you could do like a whole set of explosions at once, as well as a different flag hud etc each time you loaded tribes, that would make it heaps quicker

I have 506 megs of weapons/explosion skins. Its basically damn near anything thats ever been publicly released...On POS comp right now while I wait on my vid card but I do have all these things backed up onto my laptop.
