theres "water" in the rpg mod, but thats just a really big box that kinda looks blueish and sorta resembles water

i think something like that would require the source code so you can actually have interaction with it

the water in the rpg mod is just a type of layer , but with the sound effects set into it by if you go into it you hear a splash. There isnt anyway to make 'water' were has in t2 puke:

The water in Tribes Xtreme/Early T2 was just a huge staticshape that changed the hue of your screen when you entered it. And the giant mountains/arches were just static shapes also, which disappointed me when I assumed Water/Archways were possible with the T1 engine.

That's all I thought you could do when I read the thread subject OŻo

Dunno if this helps, but here (http://www.ablephone.com/tribes/) is a link to the guy who made the water for RPG mod's site, and here (http://www.planettribes.com/rpg/) here is a link to the tribes RPG site.

seriously, i think trying to make water is not that important. It may change the dynamics (no pun intended) of a T2 map a bit, but nothing drastic. I think that as long as the maps are well converted (which i am sure they will be), that a lack of water will ruin absolutely nothing. Of course, shity water or blue-blobs would kind of ruin it.

catch my drift?

keep up the good work plz.

I know, its just a big blue thing. But i think that's as close as we're going to get to water in T1.

Actually it's not, but yeah..

All it's going to take is somebody smart with some ingenuity to make water for t1.

Water is definitely possible in T1, I've seen some developed stages of water from my friend. Although I don't see how it would do much good except for looks... Anyways, water will most like be placed in trenches, and most trenches that I can think of are skiing routes of some sort...

this has been discussed before. there is T1 water support built in but it is turned off. you probably gonna have to hack the exe to get it to work. good luck on that one.

the rpg mod uses a flat box as water. I actually remember talking with the creator on how to do it.

back somewhere around 98-99 I actually took a forcefield turned it side ways and used that. it worked fine except for when you were inside of it. if you really want water just knee deep that is the way to go. otherwise it's probably not going to happen.

two things you will never be able to get to work in T1 is water and ground vehicles. it's been done and tried all before.

if tribesplayers.com was still around you could go through the archives there and look at the discussions on it. but we all know why you can't.
