The best one I have found is luxury foods bought for $192 at New London Planet in the NL system, sold for $1200+ at Planet Man Hatten in the New York system. The only con about the route is that that cargo is highly perishable and you will lose about 10 items on the way there, but that's small even if you have a fighter you still make a killer profit. On the way back I buy light arms at the Trenton outpost for $150 and sell them at Canterbury station in the NL system for like $280.

Any other good or better ones?

Dude.
There is no use in having trade routes that are 1 way only.

EDIT: bloops, my bad, didn't see you had stuff going on the way back. Silly me.

Here's a route that some dude found, it's an excellent route (but it makes it all a bit easy):
Let's say you start at manhattan.
Buy water $15 at manhattan > pittsburg $30
pittsburg, boron $120 > sheffield station (manchester system) $600
sheffield station, light arms $210 > planet new london $350
planet new london, luxury goods $192 > planet manhattan $1200
Rinse and repeat.

If you have a ****ty ship, there's a bit of a risk when taking the new london jumpgate, as it is almost always camped by corsairs ships.
I don't really like that route, cos it feels like cheating... With 20 cargo, you make 22k profits, can then instantly buy a new ship with more cargo and you'd have millions in only a few hours (the whole cycle takes about 30 minutes to complete).

The route I like to do, cos it's fun and cos I found it myself is buying diamonds at Dresden (for 200 something) and selling them at Planet New Tokyo for 1600, then buy engine components for 225 and sell them for 1440 at The Ring in New Berlin. It's a rather long route, but I like the sights :o

The border station in Manchester, towards Magellan, pays fairly high prices for water and oxygen if you happen to pick those up. 48cr/unit.

Hmm.. there was someone buying Boron also.. can't remember who.

Edit:Tokyo? The jap sectors are WAY above my head, but I'm only futzing around in free flight mode on a mp server of my own.

wah, the police might chase me

the game is boring if all your doing is transporting stuff from system to system, takes long as well

I dunno.
Transporting perishable goods is fun.
You're like "O**** O**** O**** ****ING PIRATES MAKE THE TRADE LANE GO BACK UP!@#" and trying to speed like a mofo.

I'd agree.. but if the person has problems with corsairs and lane hackers already, a bit of navy trouble would cost them dearly.

Well, buffalo and rochester both sell some, but it's quite expensive, so you don't make much profit.
