[T1] Glide

Im haveing a few problems with the skinny health/energy bars. I just switched from software to glide today and for some reason when i entered a server i just dropped. Do the health/energy bars work in glide or do i need a diff set. Any other things that are good with a voodoo card?

i have a voodoo3 and i run viking 4.0 with no real problems. fully loaded stripped gave no problems.

i am using the latest t2 conversions, no problems. sarca's new textures and the lush ground.

have you tried a few servers? or just the one?

Everything should work with Glide.

I'd suggest perhaps you have some high-res skins, but then again you were playing in software mode.
find that release thread I made on skinny Energy/Health bars, I use glide, and they're specifically designed for it.
It should be on page 2 or 3 of this forum.

hi-res skins work fine in sw, in fact its probably the most compatible mode for them :(

Games aren't solely dependent on vid cards. Although what you're prolly looking for...a v3 was the best card out at the time this game was released. You prolly know by now (I myself have said it about 6774545 times), t1 was designed for Glide.

Random.. I downloaded your health/energy bars but the bars were just make 1 pixil inside the ugly default health hud things. Is there a trans thing i missed?

oops, yeah i forgot to include hudtrans.bmp (http://rand0m.virtualave.net/tribes/hudtrans.bmp)

yup its called hudtrans.bmp get it from the other fat transones in the tw rdb, it was doing that to me untill i put that in the folder

450MB PC 133 SD Ram
Voodoo 3 3000 PCI 16MB

Fps: 60-80 usually, it dips to about 40-50 in big firefights but it will pretty much never lag unless i have lots of high poly models that lag the shit out of it


when i get a new computer ill test tribes on a voodoo 3 with a cpu over 2ghz

Yes he was, but fps of a video card...? There are far too many other variables that determine fps in a game, and he only mentioned one. You can't even give a rough estimate with that info.
