Data and I need to set up a bot to post this to every GeForce thread ;) In all seriousness, you prolly have a loose ball bearing that finds its way into place. Get a new fan/card unless you feel comfortable poking around on there. Data 01-22-2003, 09:53 AM Or replace the fan/fan shroud if its bothering you that much. SiG 01-22-2003, 07:34 PM Well i dont really care about the noise. its only for like 5 mins. I'm just worried that it'll have some side effect and blow some shiz if i dont fix it. If its notin to worry then i can by all means leave it alone. And no its not a visiontek Data 01-23-2003, 12:50 AM Well that's good at least. Pop open the case and watch the fan when you power it up. Shine a flashlight into it so you can get a good view and maybe see exactly what's causing it. If its just a bearing, there's really nothing you can do, and the fan WILL wear out before the card is very old. If the blades are coming in contact with the shroud you may be able to pry the shroud away (slightly) where they're hitting and extend the life of your card. If/when the fan goes that card will fry up in seconds. You have been warned. | ||
