[T1 Release] Cyczii Pack

so what kind of work would i take to change this to a 1280 config?


just curious, since i can run at 1280 now without a massive hurting in my framerate.

Personally, I won't bother helping people until they at least try reading colorgui. Much easier to explain to them what they don't understand than the whole process. Not to mention anyone who refuses to read it is prolly not very willing to learn.

i took a few minutes to read thru it, and honestly, i can't be bothered to do it. i don't have the time to do it. it's the same reason i don't do skinning, really.


a - i suck at it
b - i don't have enough time to play with it to get better.



but i also love tribes, and love what i've been seeing with the new gui's.... so i ask you guys, who know more about this shit than i do (and are much more artistic in general) about it, hoping for a response in much the same way as when i ask a scripter about anything... generally, scripters are very willing to help out... whereas you guys have just been a "do it yourself or go away" kind of group... that's not too great for the tribes scene, you know?



i mean, what if some of you actually did some custom GUI work and then made it available on the GENERAL forums? that stuff looks frickin awesome, and honestly, with the latest (and upcoming) graphical improvements to t1, the game is looking very pretty (in a stark, bleak way) in comparison to how it used to look.

just a thought.

Perhaps you should have asked someone to convert it then, rather than imply you just want to know how so you could do it yourself.

When you phrase the question like that, don't complain when someone tells you to RTFM. It's a complex process. The only way to do it is to RTFM.

i was asking how hard it would be to do it on THIS pack.


the rest of the rant actually had nothing to do with the pack in question here.... :) i was bitching about the fact that people are doing all these kickass guis out there and no one is willing to release.


this one being released is fucking awesome looking, and i wanted to know how hard it would be to convert it to 1280... figured if i was going to learn how to work with colorgui, this might be a good first step.

i havent taken a look at the pack yet

but it'd be like 20-30 coordinate changes i think, possibly half in script, half in tree

it might take 1 or 2 hours tops to have a 1280 version. i can guarantee that learning colorgui will benefit you in the long run though

Yes, random is about right.
Majority of the changes would be in script, a couple in tree.
However, unless you know the basics of scripting and huds and stuff it won't be very easy for you.
Go back to page one of this thread and have a read, I said I won't be doing it for different resolutions.
This may be referred to as a 'Pack' but its probably more like a publically released config. A 'pack' would be able to accomodate for all different resolutions, or at least the most popular ones. But I didn't really bother to spend the hours on getting all that working because it would be of no value to myself, I have a lot of things on much higher priority than scripting...like *playing* tribes :D

I'm exactly the opposite. I've spent all of maybe 10-20 hours playing Tribes over the past year. :-|
