I was wondering whats the safest values to OC it to.. when its stock. It came at 200/450... i put it up to 225/500... seems fine but i was wondering for each xnumber of mhz u increase the core, what should u increase the memory ?
i am running win2k, i have 1024mb of pc133 ram (crucial), 1800+ XP, IWILL kk266 Plus R

Trial and error. I don't know about other overclocking apps, but rivatuner allows you to test values before applying them (so it will catch values that might make your video die and leave you unable to change them back). The memory is typically able to be overclocked more than the gpu. If you start seeing miscolorations (blips, etc.) in your games/video, your memory is overclocked too high. If games start freezing and such, or your machine resets out of no where, your gpu clock is probably too high. Make changes in small increments, then use your system a bit to make sure it's stable (play games, run 3dmark a few times, etc.)

If you haven't done enough research to know what the optimal settings for your ram, gpu, and cpu are... its best to leave them as is... unless you have the $bling$ for expensive trial and error.

I've personally never heard of anyone ruining their video card from overclocking.

Just because your desktop looks fine at a certain OC speed doesn't mean your games will.

Bump the clocks up at 5 MHz at a time and test out every game. If it is stable and there are no screen artifacts or error in the display, consider it successful and move up to the next notch. Rinse and repeat.
It goes without saying that the better your card is cooled the better it will handle the added stress.
Just buy a GeForce FX. You'll get about the same gains as you would OC'ing this GF3.

I flashed my VC bios and my card ran a ton better. I never did any benchmarks or anything but it was definitely much smoother. its not safe to do it but it helps non the less.
