Photoshop question

I am skinning Kowboy ninja skins for Tribes 2 and I want to change the color of the black hands to be like skin color. There must be an easy way for me to select the area I want and change the color of that area to be skin color. How do I do that?

if u want to fill it with the foreground colour u have picked u press alt+backspace and if u want to fill it with the background colour u picked, ctrl+backspace

This is a start... but what I want to do is change the color of the hand completely while still keeping the shine and stuff that is already on it. There must be a way to do this.

i dont know if a t2 skin can handle a gradient....if so u will have to use that to make the "shine" effect :-/

select it, desaturate, then use color balance to find a moderatly brown tone and if u cant, go red or pink and make lighter/dark etc.

What sucks is I'll never be able to top those serious Imperial skins with my joke Kowboy skins. :) I wonder how many of you will actually use this Kowboy ninja skin.
