Have any of you tried classic? I'm sure it still doesn't have the nostalgic appeal of old - school T1 but it's alot of fun, and I would have to imagine it solves many of the complaints that alot of T1 players had about T2, except of course for the fact that T2 is not T1:|

In related news: everyone knows most TW people despise T2, what may, however be a surprise to you, is the fact that most T2 players don't give a shit what you think.

T1 threads: Skinning, modelling and GUI modifications. These are very well done and being pioneered by 5 or 6 people who have finally cracked the arcane ways that T1's internals work for models, skies/terrains and interface limitations.

This is new ground for T1. It's exciting and the stuff for it very nice.

T2 threads: T2 is less arcane. It's a newer game. People are still writing original scripts for it - something I almost never see in here for T1 any more. We can replace textures and remake GUIs far more easily. People aren't yet so bored with it's base look as to be making new models.

Result: this is the T2 scripting and T1 modification forum.

Bravo, very well put. Some people do enjoy enjoy T2, whether it be that they play once in awhile or they play it all the time. Everyone understands that many don't like T2 and by now we know which of you don't like it. So why do you constantly say T2 sucks. We know your opinion. It doesn't affect those who like T2 so why must you constantly repeat it. Most of the people that hear your T2 put downs are T1 players anyway. What's the point in putting T2 down in front of T1 people? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that others don't and that you need to constantly put it down.

If you're gonna get technical about it, it isnt called Tribes. Its called Starsiege Tribes, if my CD, CD Cover and Box are not mistaken.

Either way, im not debating wether they should be combined or not. I just hate when people put the Tribes 1 title on it. Its tribes, its the original. People playing T2 who havent played Tribes have no right to diss it. No to mention that there would be no T2 without Tribes. Same goes for the other way around. They're just different games. Some people started playing it earlier than others.

I avoid all T2 threads :)

it might have been a dumb comment but the comment is pretty much clear.. I dont think T2 would ever match up or compare to t1 popularity. So back the fuck off.

I don't like red mountain dew that much. But whenever I order mountain dew now, i have to specify green since red is out. Since there are 2 tribes games out now people have to specify which one they're talking about. Comes with the series.
