I'm upgrading this weekend from a GF2MX with 64mb of ram to a GF4 Ti4200 w/64mb of ram, I have the latest det drivers installed..
question is:
Will I need to do anything regarding the drivers once I upgrade the card?
thx in advance :)
Theoretically, no. Detonators are chipset specific -- actually they take it a step further: chipset manufacturer specific. You shouldn't have any problems. Throw the new card in and cold boot. The Dets should do all the work.
I say "should", cause stranger things have happened...

I need...to make...a cool sig. I always envisioned a battle crowbar (krobar) that had like, sharp points instead of the flattened tips on it. Almost had a guy make me one in highschool, but thought better of it due to my rashness at the time...*sigh*..memories

uhm...hi...when I installed the gf4 and ended up updating the drivers, I didn't have the latest ones, but my sound in windows went kinda funny....not sure if it's still messed up, it didn't sound as odd this morning before I came to work, but basically it was like my base had disappeared. I rechecked all my cables, sound card is seated, it's an sb live value....it was odd because when playing a game the sounds sounded the same, it was just winamp and windows 'noises' that were messed up. :hrm:
Reinstall sound drivers and Via 4in1s if you're running a VIA chipset.
