Computer boots but screen wont show?

Well my video card today (Geforce 2 Ti) just stopped working...when I boot up I can not see a thing on the screen, even though its on. This is the second Geforce 2 card to do this on my computer, the first being a Geforce 2 Pro. Is my video card shot or is it still replaceable? I am running Win98 on a PII 450 with plenty of RAM. The cards are by Visiontek, who do not have a tech support or much of anything anymore, so no help there.




Edit: My old Voodoo 3 3000 works for some reason.

can you try the card in another PC? Friends or relative? That could really indicate if the card is dead or not...

do what he said and if it still doesn't work make sure the fan on the graphics card is still working.. Just like mobos have the autoshutdown for pcs when the fan goes off so does the graphics card.

I tried at my friends and it didn't work..

is it toast? I didn't recently buy it I am just trying to use it on a different computer.



Edit: what do I do to adjust/start the fan? I just noticed these 2 cards has a fan while my voodoo3 does not..

The fan is powered off the PCI/AGP bus like the rest of the card. If you tried it in 2 different systems with the same result, its fried. Trash it.

You aren't getting any beeps during startup? Maybe the card was nudged loose?

it does beep at startup actually.......but I doubt its loose, I've tried installing them many times for each card and it still doesn't work.

You might be able to look up the beep codes for your motherboard/BIOS on the web...

Regardless, that video card is gone.
