need help with memory

i just bought 2 sticks of pc133 ram from kingston to put in but now i get beeps on startup. i can't find a bios update. anyone have any ideas? my bios is phoenix bios 4.0 and intel chipset 810e, it's a hewlett packard.

If you have the retail box for the ram, check the back. It'll say on there that PC133 SDRAM isn't supported by some older chipsets, naming the Intel 810 as one of them.

I just went througth the same deal w/ my mother's comp. Had to take the ram back to the store.

thats why you should always go with www.crucial.com, you pick the motherboard you got and they have the ram that works in it guaranteed.

Nothing wrong with Kingston. It's not crucial but 90% of computer users don't care about OCing and it's cheap.

just checked crucial with your 810e board says it only supports pc100
