I recently upgraded from ME to XP.
There is 900mb of winme "backup" squatting on my hd.
Any reason to keep this?
Anything worthwhile in there?
I do not plan on going back to ME.
I still have OEM ME install disk(if I really need it).

should be ok to delete. check contents 1st?
edit: wait - you "upgraded" or did you do a full install of XP?
The files might have been created by the XP install in case you want to uninstall XP.; but it should still be ok to delete. you always have the XP system restore point...
System Restore sucks. But you'll be fine if you delete those backup files.

Data's retarded :D...system restore is the best thing Microsoft has added to windows...I use it now just for testing new drivers and whatnot...its fantastic. Of course, I don't let it take up 800 MB either :p

You can delete it no prob. After a few months Disc Cleanup will ask if you want to delete them anyway.
Yeah, Windows suddenly deciding to write a backup while you're playing Tribes is the best thing ever.
Sorry, but I think I know better than Windows does about how to run my system.
By the way, there is a driver rollback feature...

That's how I found them to begin with.
I had hit disk cleanup and noticed the "leftovers."
Thanks for the real estate.
My hd thanks you.
