heh, think again.

if you're 18 and have intercourse with a girl that's 15, it's not statutory **** (felony). it's sexual misconduct, which is a misdemeanor.

hmm, ****. i was reading the law on the site made by NYS.. and i didn't read anything like that. do you know where i could read about that online?

edit:

Sexual misconduct is always a misdemeanor. A person is guilty of sexual misconduct when:

1.He or She engages in sexual intercourse with another person without such personís consent; or

2.He or she engages in deviate sexual intercourse with another person without such personís consent; or

3.He or she engages in sexual conduct with an animal or a dead human body.

As far as I understand, if both people consent, it would not fall under sexual misconduct.

edit: To clarify, the below is only for NYS.

As far as I understand, if both people consent, it would not fall under sexual misconduct.
You need to understand this A person is deemed incapable of consent when he or she is:
a) less than seventeen years old; or
b) mentally disabled; or
c) mentally incapacitated; or
d) physically helpless; or
e) committed to the care and custody of the state department of correctional blah blah blah.
That's why it's sexual misconduct. If you look at the **** definitions (there's a 3rd, 2nd, and 1st degree, each different) none of them covers your case of 18 to 15, but one of them covers 18 to UNDER 15.

Here's an age chart taught to us in police academy.

Perp's Age Victim's Age
21 and over 16,15
20,19,18 14,13,12,11
17,16 10 and under

Here's how you use it. The left side is the perpetrator's age, and the right side is the victim's age. Look up each. Then draw a straight line from one person's age to the other.

If the line from left to right goes straight across OR diagonally downwards, IT IS ****..

If the line from left to right goes upwards diagnoally, it's sexual misconduct.

If the ages don't fit on the chart at all, YOU'RE HOME FREE.

I'm absolutely 100% completely sure of this.

You realize this varies from state to state, right iNVAR? Age of consent in Virginia is 16. Across the board.

Here anyone is fair-game as long as they're 14 years old. Only exception is if the adult is in a position of authority (ex: teacher).

Gotta love Canada.

Bounty, you might be wrong about the age of consent for VA. ;)

So a 16 year old with another 16 year old is sexual misconduct? Which is the perpetrator and which is the victim? LoL

I trust you iNVAR, but I'd like to see an actual reference in some legal document or something because what I read online seems to differ with what you're saying.
