ok i got an ATI AGP card as my primary and a voodoo 5 PCI as my secondary, i can not switch tribes to run on the monitor connected to the voodoo 5. If i start tribes in windowed mode i can drag it to the other monitor but it always keeps a little bit of the window on the primary monitor. when i go full screened it cause back to primary (ati) monitor.

My voodoo 5 gets much better fps then my ati.

Helllllllllppppppppppp

I dont' know of a way to get this to happen...I think games force the primary monitor...you can set the v5 to be the primary monitor before you play tribes..

ding ding ding.

games will only display to the primary device.

Set the v5 to primary, and move everything else over to the other monitor, yes you can even move the taskbar and such over if you want.

the problem with making the PCI primary is that my agp card is an ati all in wonder and i loose the tv tuner and video capture if i do not have it primary.

I did manage to get tribes on the seconday monitor for a minute last night but it was totaly distorted, may be a refresh rate issue or something. But i did not have time to troubleshoot any more.

I'll give it another shot tonight.

ding ding ding.

It works. no problem, voodoo 5 5500 pci as secondary card. my problem lied in my clientprefs.cs, even though i started it in a windowed mode and then selected glide it would crash and never commit the changes to the clientpres.cs. So i edited the file directly and set the mode to glide and it runs no problem. had to make sure the refresh rates and resolutions were matching on the 2 montitors also.

Success. thanks for the help where provided ;)

I'm confused...When you click on tribes now it starts on teh non-primary monitor? Or are you resetting your monitor in Display Properties

tribes is running fine on secondary monitor without switching anything in the display properties.

However I find T2 will not work properly on secondary monitor now. it loads and while in observer mode moving the mouse moves your view but as soon as you click in to join a team its like doing an alt-tab. T2 minimizes and it goes back to your desktop. So for T2 i have to set my secondary monitor as my primary in the display properties and then the mouse works fine. T1 also works fine this way.

I'm running win2k and its very slick doing this stuff.
