[T1] Sarcs Texture question

Does it lower your fps in game? I dont get that many frames and dont want to lower my performance anymore.

no. if anything they give you better fps, like they did for me on this celery 550.

i agree, equal or better fps. and most things look way better with the new textures.

I would get a better card but no card will work with my pos comp. And i dont have the money to get a new one.

i feel for u Xeri0us...though mines not all that crash hot, im stuck on 600 celery thats about to have a fried vid card (PCI 32mb tnt2) from too much overclocking and i get like 10-15 fps in-game :cry:

ahh the newb days... playing on 56k, no vid card, textures and graphic shit all on low, pushing 6 fps, if not 10 on a good day. :(

Jesus do you guys realize that for 150$ you can get a 1Ghz (or more) processor with a 32mb Vid Card. If you really can't afford that, then sell some shit on E-bay or to a pawn shop. My ass is just too lazy to do this. By the way, i am on a PIII 550 with a 32mb Radeon DDr (I wanted to be able to hook up to my TV)

And I have a 2400mhz with a Geforce Ti4400 128 MB <333 with 512 RAMz0r <3333

gf2 64mb, 512 ram, 1.8 ghz. took 2 years to get + 1 shitty comp that i wasted more money on trying to fix, i could probably of had 4 computers by now.

word im on a 333mhz p2 with ati rage pro :| in software mode with 11 to 13 fps :( im 15 with no job or car to get more money and my parents dont use the computer so they dont care.

mine is a 1.4 ghz 1,500 somthin mhz and 512 ram...for me its the config that screws up the fps, not the skins...right now i use vp4 and i get 15 - 20 out of a cabable 50 - 60 :(

i took them off after a while
custom textures seemed to reduce the fps on my comp
even with my 16x16 extremely low-res textures (that's actually what put me off custom texs)
if they were finished for the dox/oc maps and replaced every single texture then i'd probably use them

but cass is probably too busy to finish them

oh and sysorex is retarded beyond help

When you first come onto the server where you have to press fire, for example, i was checking the IR base without textures roughly 108fps, then checked with my textures, over 200fps.

not sure why your pc did that, but i've never known anyone to have a prob with them as far as slowing down.

I just think it's in your mind. But who knows.

Mind you, this pc that I play tribes on is a celery 366 OCed to 550 on a v5500.

well ern why does my tribes fps lower by the config?...and o yeah i get less fps for the higher screen resolution so i use 800x600
