Have Windows 2000 send e-mail when a service stops?

Is there any way to get Windows 2000 to send me an e-mail when a service stops functioning on a remote server/workstation?

i think you need an external app to do that.

Install SNMP and Message Que (comes with win2k pro and server) and set it up per service you want monitored.

however, i'd use a different outside tool that not only emails, but attempts to restart to a set number of tries, etc.
