RAM or Video Card problem?

[14:03] <@ragnafrak> only when it seems like something is loading
[14:03] <@ragnafrak> like in games, they're always there
[14:03] <@ragnafrak> but they are also happening when something loads on the desktop
[14:03] <@ragnafrak> like if i open a folder and it loads all the icons
[14:04] <@ragnafrak> the window is unresponsive until the icons are loaded.. and while they're loading the screen has the black lines
[14:04] <@ragnafrak> the lines are also there sometimes in bios screen and when xp is loading
[14:04] <@ragnafrak> i get more lines if i raise my fsb
[14:04] <@ragnafrak> and less if i lower my fsb
[14:05] <@ragnafrak> no matter what ram settings i use
[14:05] <@ragnafrak> and increasing/decreasing the clock of my gpu/video ram doesn't affect anything
[14:05] <@ragnafrak> and to add
[14:05] <@ragnafrak> highlighting text causes the lines to occur

winxp/sp1, 40.72 dets, 4in1 v4.43, amd miniport 5.33, newest bios

all these parts have been running the same settings/configuration for over a year, this stuff just recently started happening

I would underclock the card and see if they go away. Then I would pull the HSF off the GPU and make sure it's making good contact.
