Does anyone know how to construct a beowolf cluster? And if so, can it be set up to incorporate Windows boxes as well as linux?

yes, i've setup BW clusters before, and no you can't (unless they have a windows based client now) use a windows machine for it.

if you are just wanting disk storage to be used you can use several other things besides BF. It is not easy to setup, at all, especially if you don't know a whole lot about linux or about the way a multi-server environment is or needs to be setup.

If you want to go windows you can do a ton of different things.

It all depends on what you want in the end result
