I use a v5500 to play Tribes1. As of yesterday, my fps have gone from 70-120 to 8-20.
I was running a dual monitor setup and started experiencing probs with the monitor so I updated the drivers for that card (simple matrox mill II since my 2nd v5500 blew on me).
After installing the drivers on the ancient card, my fps took a shit in Tribes. I have since then taken out the card and un-installed all drivers (to my knowledge).
Now, being that my v5500 is the sole card, I went ahead and re-installed the 3rd party drivers I had been using for quite some time, Amigamerlin 2.1.
Now I am getting device failure errors and windows XP drops into 8 bit mode every so often.
What I want to know, is if there is a program to completely wipe out the current drivers in use, or a way to de-reference the drivers being used.
I've un-installed the drivers for the v5500 but XP seems to pick them right back up upon reboot.
Any suggestions what to do?
edit: This is an example of what tribes looks liek now :(
