I think I've got a pretty good handle on the whole process, but I can't find an answer to one question.
For normal tv captures I capture at 640x480 and downsize to 320x240. This gets rid of all the interlacing of the source. However, say I'm capturing a higher quality source and I don't wish to downsize. All my reading has confirmed that good deinterlacing is a pain and always lossy(a non-telecined source at least), and it seems dumb to deinterlace when I'm going to play it back on the tv anyway.
So my question is: Is there anyway to play back an interlaced video from computer and have it look right on tv? From what I understand tv outs just grab your desktop and interlaces it, so my already interlaced video is getting reinterlaced and the combing is obvious.
any help appreciated
