Particle Illusion is an excellent tool, Especially if you can't use more advanced programs like 3D MAX or MAYA. Particle Illusion should serve you just fine. The only down side is the price tag. I don't think you need the full version though, is this kind of thing considered commercial? does it say that the trial can be used non-commercially? I am not sure now that i think of it.

I thought you used particle illusion... as it is a default from particle illusion.

I didn't make that. It was a pre-defined mov file which i converted.

I just converted to be used with T1 pals

Oh ok.

In that case, you should try it out. Although its not as powerful as max, it has a high level of customizability, and can get some nice results. I use it for the majority of my explosions. I only use MAYA to add things on, and for that grenade explosion. I think you will like what it can do.
