I'm putting together a database for my shop to make data input easier. I have limited knowledge on Access and I'm learning as I go.
I have a field on my table named "Report Number" and the corresponding text box on my form is named "RN". My form is named "Screenings".
What I want to do is if someone inputs a duplicate report number that it highlights the text box on the form. I've been googling it, and I've found some answers for vBa and some answers for conditional formatting, both using DCount function. Using some of the google answers I got it to highlight the box, but then it changes the color on all records, not just the duplicate.
I want the duplicates to be ok, just a notification that it is a duplicate.
Any help would be appreciated.
