[labtop lol] Looking for a replacement

So my piece of shit Sony Vaio is pretty much dying and I'm looking to get a replacement for it.

i have it narrowed down to

Amazon.com: ASUS G73SW-A1 Republic of Gamers 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop (Black): Computer & Accessories

vs

Amazon.com: Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q8102 18.4-Inch Gaming Laptop (Omega Black): Computer & Accessories

does anyone have any experience with either laptop? Pretty much looking for something as a desktop replacement which can game, so size and weight don't bug me. Have read bad reviews on the Asus keyboard being stiff, so if anyone has said laptop, input would be appreciated

Thanks TW, attached are NWS videos of my current favorite porn star for your time

edit: i'm also open to alternatives if anyone wants to suggest one

i can't do a desktop as my work has me travelling a butt-ton. have no problems lugging my 17" around:)brows:), so i'm gonna stick to a 17". and I already have an ipad.

the sagers with the nvidia chips are on back order or they'd be on my list :( i can feel this vaio croaking its last breaths so I kinda want a replacement asap.

edit: doing research on the digital storm... thanks :)

oh hmm.

xoticpc has sagers in stock, and from reviews, they're a reputable reseller. might go with that instead...

i just bought a dell xps 15 because of this thread last night.

looked at the specs of all the laptops linked and realized the dell was still substantially less for the same system essentially.

i know its likely not going to last as long as my current one (nearly 5 years) but for the price, who fucking cares

whatever logic you are using to justify the purchase of a gaming laptop please reconsider..........

biggest waste of money ive ever spent.

I like Asus, their customer support is pretty sweet.

Back in 2006 I bought one of these from them. The screen died in late 2009, a few months before the warranty ended and I got in touch with them. They no longer supported the product and couldn't get parts to fix it so they sent me one of these as a replacement.

I have the ASUS listed but a slightly older model (i7/6GB/500GB/5870m)

I really like the laptop as a whole, but this is my 2nd ASUS with heat issues. My GPU is idling right now at 81C. It jumps to 100 while gaming. My last ASUS had this same issue.

Aside from this problem, I've enjoyed both laptops. Based on what i've read it seems I have bad luck as most people don't have these issues.
