I've been reading about google analytics and I was curious if I could get some more information on it. Anyone have any good articles worth reading or tips/techniques?

Maybe give your take on it ? :jawdrop:

I think you want to more about SEO instead of the Analytics Product.. Analytics is pretty straight forward.

I use mine for a site on our intranet. I don't do much with it, but it's nice to see when clicks come from out-of-state (corporate), in-state (regional), or overseas (chinese hackers).

I especially like it to see which browsers are hitting the site initially so I can prevent those types of issues.

The main reason I use it is to validate how many people are actually using it, though,

yea you want to think more about SEO. this is a good start.

pretty straightforward. tells you how to optimize your site.

another thing is google's keyword tool here:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

type in any site and it'll tell you what keywords people use to find that site (kinda like alexa.com) or you can type in a general keyword and find the most searched versions of that. basically you want to throw the most searched keywords all over your site in img alt tags, title tags (the most important), and whatever else.

It also lets you know how deep into your webpage people are going. Gives you a more accurate report of their activities on your page aside from "They clicked on it"
