so we're going to batter it first, I started with a mixture of 2 flours:1 water (roughly) and an egg lightly beaten. mix until smooth set aside for 10 minutes.

de-vein, shell skrimps, rinse and pat dry. coat well with corn starch...make sure you pat the very dry ****face.

if you want, julienne some veggies

batter the skrimps deep fry until golden brown,

pro-tip: try frying just one skrimp first to see how the batter consistency is, if you don't like it adjust it with more water (to thin) or more flour (to thicken) once you get the batter down fry them a few a time

drain on a paper towel and keep them warm, carefully remove oil from the wok

2:1 honey to sesame oil, warmed gently

optional veggies sauteed in some hot oil (hot as in spicy)

toss our pals the skrimps and the veggies well and coat and warm through

put in a bowl and sprinkle with sesame seeds and enjoy (serviced with some sushi and edamame).

pretty much any regular supermarket will have some in the asian section. it'll probably be more expensive than normal oil though

and i feel like that's a **** load of sesame oil w/ a 2:1 ratio. i obviously haven't made it, but sesame oil is pretty intense flavor/aroma-wise. a little usually goes a long way

Nothing.

I can find it at Wal-Mart here in the asian section

The mexican is right, it's pretty strong and it's an easy way to make anything taste asian.

It was good...I served it over a bed of those super skinny white asian noodles.
Had a hard time getting the batter to bond with the shrimp...ended up adding some more water to thin out the batter a bit. Seemed to work better.

Alas, I was going to add some shredded carrots to go with the green peppers but I forgot :(
