Remember the BFG (Big Fucking Gun) from Doom? If the games cool, it'll make the acronym seem cooler. If it sucks, it'll make the acronym seem gay. Either way it's just a descriptive name that's no worse than "Tribes"

No, this name is definitely worse than tribes. It's like making a FPS and calling it FIRST PERSON SHOOTER or an RPG and calling it ROLE-PLAYING GAME.
