Any bird folks here

Went out and got my Saturday mail and found a feather at the end of my drive. Dark brown mostly to light brown on the edge of the longest feather parts (barb?). The feather is 18" long...big bird...

We talking "bird" in the American sense, or the British sense?

An important distinction, I assure you. :brows:

In what part of the world do you live?

Indiana, we do have eagles here and it has to be a bird near that size I'd figure.

I'm aware of turkeys, not one of their feathers.

Definitely a flying bird, one side (the barb) is much shorther than the other.

Well friend of mine knows the local newspaper bird writer and is going to contact her. Friend of mine at work also is a bird watch, spent 3 days last week in mich identify birds, going to take it to work and ask her.

Have camera, in a box somewhere, just recently moved.
