[Noob] Video Card Upgrade Question

I was thinking about upgrading my video card from a 8800 GT to this:

I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about the card or a better one for similar price that I should get instead. I know that 285s are obviously better, but am I being stupid buying this card when its already outdated or something?

I have the same card. Runs everything extremely well (80+ fps on most games) at max settings except for stuff like Crysis/Farcry 2.

A lot of it depends on the specs of your system whether or not you'll really get the benefit from upgrading.

Well, I have Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.4GHz, 4gb of DDR2 ram. I just wanted to know if this was a good card to upgrade or if there was something around the same range that is a LOT better that I am missing/overlooking.
