My prof. gave us a little trivia in class today, thought I would share with TW.

When is the last time that Republicans have won the Presidency without a Nixon or Bush on the party ticket?

Try not to look it up.

Yer not very smert.

:/ damnit ninja edit came too late

i glossed over the whole 'on the ticket' part.

therefore, i change my answer to: Ford
wait he wasnt elected therefore technically he didnt 'win'

i dont know who the last republican was before that. Herbert Hoover?

edit: oh right eisenhower was republican but with nixon on the ticket. i actually forgot nixon was his VP for both terms.

thats a bit disingenuous. i wouldn't really consider Nixon a "dynasty".

Is this true?: republican vp's do well, democratic ones dont

when was the last democratic VP to win the presidency?

hmmm...i dont think a democratic VP has won the presidency in the past 100 yrs, yet it is still seen as a great path to presidency.

he wasn't elected president from VP, as fdr died. he was elected in 1948, but that was running as an incumbent, same as johnson after kennedy.

hmmmm...maybe democratic vps see their only path to presidency as when the pres dies. NEW CONSPIRACY TIME!!!! hehe
