So my roommates dad always talks about how good Boston Butt is cooked in the crock pot. I was at the grocery store and saw it on sale and decided to buy a 6lb piece. What is the best way to do cook it? I am definitely trying to use the crock pot (will be my first time, so pointers welcome). Recipes please :)

Just massage a dry rub then throw it in the crock, fat side up, on low for 4 hours or so.
Rub stuff:
black pepper
white pepper
cayenne pepper
chili powder
cumin
brown sugar
paprika

Or you can just put it in there fat side up, on low, cook few hours, then pull all the meat off. BBQ it up in your favorite sauce.

Or you can just put it in there fat side up, on low, topped with your favorite can of cream of soup (chick, celery, mush). After few hours, serve it over some rice or biscuits.

I ended up just doing it in the oven. Sitting there now. I rubbed it, put it in at 230. Prob gonna take 10 hours. I put fat side down though, is it gonna be a big problem?

turn it over, it'll dry out. dry pork is no fun, unless you like toothpicks.

you always want the fat side up it benefits the meat when it melts.
