I have a couple of friends who work at IGT, and they've been telling me about the work they've been doing with Microsoft on their new technology, Microsoft Surface. From what they've told me, it can be used in a million different ways, most notably at every table in a restaurant so when a party goes to pay the bill, there's no more of everyone standing there looking stupid with a credit card, asking for 10 individual checks, instead you can simply select which meals/drinks you had, scan yer card, and it's a done deal. Or it can be used for ordering services in a hotel room, etc etc.
It looks like they're giving it test runs out here in Vegas at the Rio.
