Gaming keyboard suggestions?

I've had the same keyboard for the last 8 years.

Some keys no longer function from yelling at people over Vent. Otherwise I'm sure mine would last 8 years too. I suppose I'd have to go to some store to see how keys and layout feels.

I like my G15.

But I have the good one, the old blue backlit one.
It fucking rocks.
If you can find one, I suggest you get it instead.

if they made analog keys for keyboards i will buy another gaming keyboard untill then i just use my g15 with its tons of semi useless keys.

I've been pretty happy with Saitek's keyboards. I've had the Eclipse & Eclipse II. They're pretty durable and have a good feel to them imo.

would plugging a USB keyboard into a laptop slow it down badly or is it a good idea?
Depends on the laptop. I have, on a regular basis:

2 hubs
keyboard
laptop mouse
external hd
joystick
controller
sometimes a phone or other device

all regularly plugged in and I notice no slowdowns.

Yeah I really like the look of the first gen G15 but I'm not sure I'd use all those extra buttons. If there was a store nearby where I could check out all three, that would be easiest.

Notice a lot of light bleeding? Brightness inconsistencies? That seems the be the biggest gripe about these so far.
