Need Help [computer guru's]

Hello. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this. I want to do this.

I want to have my Dad come over with his Comp.

Then I want to connect our computers 2gether so that we can play Tribes. I do not want to be online with the internet. If I wanted that I would just host a server. I do not know how to get the 2 comps 2gether so that we can play Tribes. Help a father and son spend the day 2gether.

you will not be able to connect the computers directly to one another using the same cable you use to connect your computer to the cable modem or router. you will need a crossover cable.
 
i was going to say, shouldn't this go in the tech forum? then i realized this question is too stupid for the tech forum.
